The nurses were ready to send me away to give birth in the streets, because they knew I would not make it to my village. But Jackline Y. saw me, a complete stranger, and she shared her Maama Kit supplies with me. After her delivery, the nurses washed and sanitized the gloves and the blade. They used it for me.
